Changelog

Every release, in the open.

Notarized macOS builds, shipped little and often.

v0.5.0

Manage your subscription from the menu bar

Take charge of your subscription without leaving the app.

  • Manage Subscription, right from the menu. A new "Manage Subscription…" item opens your secure customer portal, where you can update your payment card, cancel anytime, or copy your license key again.
  • Lost your purchase email? No problem. The portal signs you in with a magic link sent to the email you bought with, so you can always get back in - even if that original receipt is long gone.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.4.0

Pause on your terms

More control over when Stay Green steps aside.

  • Pause for a set time. A new Pause submenu lets you pause for 1, 2, or 4 hours; Stay Green resumes on its own when the time is up.
  • Pause until a date & time you pick. Choose any future moment and keep-active switches back on automatically then.
  • Choose what a manual pause stops. A new "Manual pause stops:" setting lets a pause stop the green nudging, keep-screen-awake, or both - so you can pause your presence while still keeping your screen from sleeping.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.3.3

See when your subscription renews

Clearer license status, and subscriptions are now live.

  • Renewal date in the menu. When you're subscribed, Stay Green now shows your plan's renewal date in the menu instead of a vague status, so where your license stands is always clear at a glance.
  • Subscribe in a couple of taps. Pick monthly or yearly at getstaygreen.com, then activate the app with the license key from your email. The 7-day free trial is still there to try everything first, no card needed.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.3.2

Update prompts come to the front

A small fix to the updater.

  • Update prompts come to the front. When Stay Green finds a new version, the update window now appears on top of your other windows instead of behind them, so you won't miss it. (Stay Green lives in the menu bar, so its windows didn't always come forward on their own.)

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.3.1

Paste your license key with Cmd-V

A quick fix for activation.

  • Paste with Cmd-V. The license key field (and other panels) now accept the standard keyboard shortcuts: paste, copy, cut, and select all. Previously you had to right-click to paste.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.3.0

Meeting-aware, calmer, and more in your control

A big update focused on making Stay Green smarter, calmer, and more yours.

Smarter and more natural

  • Meeting-aware. When you're on a call (a conferencing app plus your mic in use), Stay Green eases off the silent nudges, since you're clearly present, and keeps your screen awake so it never sleeps mid-meeting. Prefer it to keep nudging through calls? There's a toggle for that.
  • More natural timing. The keep-alive now varies its timing slightly instead of firing like clockwork, so your activity looks organic rather than robotic.
  • Only when it matters. Optionally keep green only while a chat app is actually running, so nothing happens when there's nobody to see your status.

More control over pausing

  • Finer off-hours and lunch pauses. Choose exactly what each pause stops: keep your screen awake through lunch while pausing the nudges, or the reverse.
  • Low Power Mode. Optionally pause automatically while your Mac is in Low Power Mode to save battery.
  • Global hotkey. Pause and resume from anywhere with a keyboard shortcut.

See it working, and stay discreet

  • Activity view. A new window shows how long you've stayed active today plus a timeline of recent keep-alives and pauses, so you can confirm at a glance that it's working.
  • Stealth mode. Hide the menu-bar icon entirely and bring it back with a reveal shortcut, for a completely invisible setup.
  • Friendly first run. A short welcome walks you through what the app does and the one permission it needs.

Licensing

  • Move between Macs easily. Each license now activates one Mac, with a one-click "Deactivate this Mac" so you can move your license to a new machine whenever you like.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.2.0

Auto-updates and more control

Stay Green can now keep itself up to date, so fixes reach you automatically.

  • Automatic updates. New versions install themselves in the background - no re-downloading, and you keep your Accessibility permission.
  • Pause over lunch. A configurable daily break window inside your work hours, on top of the off-hours pause.
  • About window. Quickly check which version you're running.
  • Snappier on wake. State refreshes the moment your Mac wakes from sleep.

Still macOS-only; Windows is in development.

v0.1.0

First public release

The first public release of Stay Green for macOS. A tiny menu-bar app that keeps your chat status green while you're idle.

Added

  • Keep me active: silently keeps you showing as active so Teams, Slack & other chat apps stay Available while you step away, without moving your cursor or interrupting you.
  • Keep screen awake: optionally stop the display sleeping and the screensaver starting (and, unlike caffeinate, it still keeps you green).
  • Auto-pause off-hours: set work hours and active weekdays. Outside them Stay Green steps aside.
  • Quick pauses: pause for 1 hour, or until you resume.
  • Launch at login, menu-bar only (no Dock icon), with a live status dot.

Notes

  • Available now for macOS as a notarized download.
  • Windows support is in active development.
