Keeping Teams & Slack green
How do I keep my Microsoft Teams status green?
Install Stay Green for macOS and turn it on. It quietly resets the system idle timer, so Microsoft Teams keeps showing you as green and Available while you step away, only when you're actually idle. Because it works at the system level, the same nudge keeps Slack, Zoom, Discord and other chat apps green at the same time.
Is Stay Green a mouse jiggler?
It's a smarter, invisible alternative. Instead of physically moving your cursor around the screen, Stay Green synthesizes one harmless keypress (F15, which does nothing visible) and a zero-distance mouse move to reset the idle timer. Nothing jumps around on screen, there's no USB dongle, and it auto-pauses outside your hours.
The free trial
Is there a free trial, and how long is it?
Yes. Every download comes with a 7-day free trial, with no card and no account needed. Just open the app and the trial starts automatically.
What happens when the trial ends?
The keep-active features pause: Stay Green stops nudging the idle timer, so you'll drift to "Away" like normal. The app stays open in your menu bar with a Subscribe button, and software updates keep working. Subscribe (or enter a license key) and everything switches back on instantly. Nothing is deleted, and your settings stay put.
License keys
How do I enter my license key?
Open the Stay Green menu from your menu bar, choose Enter license key, and paste the key from your purchase email. The app activates this Mac and you're set.
It says my license hit its device limit. What do I do?
Licenses are single-device - one Mac per key. If you've moved to a new Mac, or are setting one up alongside an old one, free the seat first: on the Mac you're leaving, open Stay Green and choose Deactivate this Mac. That releases the key so it can activate on the new Mac. No longer have the old Mac handy? Get in touch and we'll reset it for you.
How do I move Stay Green to a new Mac?
It's self-service. On your old Mac, open Stay Green and choose Deactivate this Mac (this frees the single seat). Then on your new Mac, download Stay Green and enter the same license key to activate. The same key follows you - no need to buy again.
Is it safe and allowed?
Is this against my company's rules? Is it safe?
Stay Green is intentionally minimal. It synthesizes one harmless keypress (the F15 key, which does nothing visible) plus a zero-distance mouse-move - the same kind of input macOS sees when you move the mouse - to reset the system idle timer. It reads nothing, logs no keystrokes, and never looks at your screen. That said, whether to run it is your call: check your own workplace policy if you're unsure.
Does it work with Teams and Slack, Zoom, Discord?
Yes. Stay Green doesn't talk to any specific app - it resets the system idle timer, so one nudge keeps every presence-aware app active at once: Teams, Slack, Zoom, Discord and others all stay green together.
Billing, refunds & cancellation
Can I get a refund?
Because every download comes with a 7-day free trial that unlocks every feature, purchases are non-refundable once you subscribe: you can try Stay Green completely, at no cost and no risk, before you pay a cent. We'll still make things right for genuine issues like a duplicate charge, a payment you didn't authorize, or a defect we can't fix. The full details are in our Refund Policy.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, and you don't need your purchase email. Go to Manage subscription, enter the email you bought with, and you'll get a secure link to manage or cancel (it also shows your license key). Cancelling stops future charges, and your access stays on until the end of the period you've already paid for. There's no partial refund for the remainder of a period, so you keep what you've paid for until it runs out.
I'm in the EU. What about the 14-day right to cancel?
Stay Green is digital content that starts working the moment you activate it. By buying, you ask for that immediate access and agree that you give up the usual 14-day withdrawal right once it starts. That's exactly why we offer the free trial: so you can decide before you pay. See the Refund Policy for the details.
Your data
Where's my data?
On your Mac. Nothing leaves it except a software update check and licensing requests. Licensing sends a one-way salted device hash (which can't be reversed to identify your Mac), your license key, your Mac's hostname, and the app version - nothing about what you do. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
